Brassovola nodosa is an epiphytic orchid from tropical America. From Mexico and the West Indies to Venezuela and Peru, at altitudes of up to 600 m on rocks and trees.

Blooming Time: All year round, usually spring to fall. Large, spiderlike, white flowers with narrow sepals and petals and large lip. The long lasting flowers are scented, particularly at night.

Culture: Brassavola nodosa like an intermediate to warm position with plenty of light. A suitable compost is a mixture of osmunda fibre or chopped tree-fern with sphagnum moss and perhaps a little bark. During the growing period they require plenty of water. After the pseudobulbs have finished growing, water should be restricted for a few weeks during the rather indefinite rest period.

New Arrival $20 BC Ann Hamilton
